Rug care in Kilburn, Queen’s Park and West Hampstead
A specialist conversation close to our Kilburn base
A familiar piece can acquire wear gradually, so the first question is often whether treatment is needed at all. H. Behnam personally undertakes agreed home assessments, examining the fibres, dyes, foundation and earlier work before recommending a response. Please arrange a visit in advance; being nearby does not replace an agreed appointment.
Owners in Brondesbury and South Hampstead can use the same enquiry route. Tell us how the piece is used, whether you have noticed a change, and what you would like to preserve. A family account or an earlier invoice may offer useful context, while the rug itself remains the main source of evidence.
Cleaning and repair are different decisions
Surface soiling, a weakened edge and a failing fringe each raise different questions. Specialist cleaning is selected for the individual work. Repair and restoration address structural needs and should retain as much sound original material as appropriate.
Our original restoration photographs show end and fringe reconstruction. They are examples of ORS workmanship, rather than claims about a particular local client.
Before an assessment
Can I bring a piece straight to Kilburn Square?
Contact us first to agree suitable arrangements. Describe its approximate size and condition, especially if it feels brittle or difficult to move.
Do I need to know where it was woven?
No. Behnam can explain the clues offered by construction and design, distinguishing likely origins from what the available evidence can establish.
Discuss your piece
