Specialist rug cleaning in Chiswick, Hammersmith and Fulham
When a mark needs specialist judgement
A stain is only one part of the assessment. Fibre type, dye stability, earlier treatment and the underlying foundation can all affect the appropriate response. Tell us what happened, when it was noticed and whether anything has already been applied.
Avoid experimenting with household products on a valuable or uncertain piece. Photographs can help start the discussion, but no photograph can establish every treatment risk or guarantee that a mark can be removed. H. Behnam personally undertakes agreed home assessments.
Consider weak ends and edges alongside soiling
An unravelled end or loose edge may need attention before a piece can be handled or treated appropriately. The sequence of repair and restoration and specialist cleaning is therefore a judgement about the whole work.
Our care process explains assessment, proposed work and return arrangements. Oriental Rug Services Ltd brings 37 years of expertise and third-generation family knowledge to these decisions. Mention the size of the rug and access to the property when discussing a visit.
Before an assessment
Can you guarantee complete stain removal?
No responsible assessment can promise that for every piece. Results depend on the material, dyes, cause and age of the mark, earlier treatment and the condition of the fibres.
Will a small loose fringe be dealt with during cleaning?
Raise it when enquiring so its construction can be assessed. Fringes may be part of the foundation; any repair and its scope should be discussed rather than assumed.
Discuss your piece
